Air Disc Rotors
All rotors are balanced to OEM specs and protected with an 8–10 micron GeoMet 360 coating. The zinc-and-aluminum oxide layer bonds to the metal and delivers over four times the corrosion resistance of standard zinc. It stands up to more than 30 corrosives- acid wash, alcohol, ammonia, antifreeze, brake clean, brake fluid, calcium chloride, diesel, gasoline, kerosene, magnesium chloride, and road salt, so fleets get longer rotor life and cleaner, reliable braking in all conditions.
Rotor Diagnostics
A: Minimum thickness is stamped on the rotor; OE-style bevel shows when it’s reached.
B: Blueing means excessive heat from hanging pads or sticking pins; minor cracks are acceptable.
C: Thermal shock cracks require replacement at 0.06 in (1.5 mm) or 0.04 in (1.0 mm) for splined rotors.
D: Cracks from hub to 75% of the edge—or breaching the edge—mean replace immediately.
E: Martensite spotting from high heat hardens the surface; rotor must be replaced.
F: Ridging from debris deeper than 0.06 in (1.5 mm) requires immediate replacement.
