A core is the used part you return after buying a remanufactured product like a compressor, fan clutch, or brake caliper. Think of it as a deposit system: when you buy the remanufactured unit, part of the price is a core charge. Once you send back your old, rebuildable part (the “core”), we refund or credit that charge. In plain terms: You buy a remanufactured part → pay the part price + core charge. You return your old unit in acceptable condition → core charge is refunded. If the returned part is damaged beyond repair, the refund may be reduced or denied. This system keeps costs lower for you, reduces waste, and ensures parts can be rebuilt for future use. Customers are responsible for the cost of return shipping. You may use any carrier of your choice; however, we strongly recommend one that provides tracking. Fleet Products Ltd assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged shipments during return transit. All core returns must be shipped freight prepaid if the shipment weighs 500 lbs or less. For returns exceeding 500 lbs, we will arrange for collect freight using the courier of our choice. Please contact your sales representative for specific shipping instructions if your return qualifies for this option. Refunds will typically be processed within four weeks. However, in many cases, you may receive your refund more quickly. This time frame includes the transit time for us to receive the return (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return (3 to 5 business days), and the time required for your bank to process the refund (5 to 10 business days). Cores must be "Like for like" meaning you must return the same make, model, and part number as the unit you purchased to receive the full core deposit back. The following rules apply to all cores being returned: Fleet Products / KBR core acceptance is based on a simple visual inspection and 3 criteria: Unacceptable cores will not receive credit. Customers may request their rejected core be returned at their expense.
